Rock Garden's HR Montauk

This sweet boy came to us quite unexpectedly in the Fall of 2014 when we were looking to bring a companion in for our younger male Berberis who had been recently separated from the girls and was too young to be alone with the big boys. He had not been registered or named as yet; so we found it only fitting to name him Montauk. (The montauk daisy will show up in your Fall garden when you least expect it.)

Montauk has the sweetest face and disposition. He has bright white, crimpy, fleece that is long, silky, and very fine.

At age 3 his micron count continues to be Grade 1 - Ultra Fine with a micron count of 19.9. His 2016 EPD Test results placed him in the Top 1% once again in AFD #92 out of 21089, SF #113, %F>30 #46 and the Top 10% SDAFD #92, MC #675 and %M #290. Look again at those numbers!

His micron count at age 2 was 18.2 and his 2015 EPD testing results had placed him in the Top 1% for the traits - AFD, SF, %F>30  and the Top 10% for SDAFD MC and %M.

He is a virtual melting pot of fantastic Peruvian, Alianza, Accoyo and Bolivian bloodlines:

On both his Sire (Nineveh's Nube) and Dam's (Mohican's Christa) side - Alianza - from Peruvian Hemingway who is believed to have had the most profound impact on the quality of the alpacas outside of South America.
On his Dam's side is Mister Antonio; one of Hemingway's best son's.
On his Sire's side, Peruvian Bueno; picked #1 choice by 3 of the Country's leading breeders, who produced more "Get of Sires" than any male in the Country.

Next throw in some Accoyo - all on his Sire's side - from PPeruvian Caligula; All American Futurity Herdsire and AOBA Get of Sire Winner. PPPeruvian Augusto - Record breaking highest selling alpaca - sold in 2000 for $226,000. & AOBA Breeders Choice Winner; and then, MFI PeruvianWellington; believed to be the best offspring of Augusto.

Last but not least -  add in Bolivian on his Sire's side - from Acero Marka's Rockamundo; one of Canada's top producing macho males - a direct import from Bolivia. He produced IAOC Bolivian Bella (Montauk's great grand dam) a blue ribbon winner for whom the Judge's comment was "what we should all be striving to breed for!"

It's no wonder why his fiber stats are so good!

Montauk will start his breeding career in 2017,  with a introductory price of $300.00 for drive-bys; keep him in mind for your breeding choices - you won't be disappointed!
